  ON TRAK

QuickTrak manufactures some of the most bulletproof car-security systems in the world, and so it comes as no surprise to find that elite car club P1 International has chosen QuikTrak's military-derived CarWatch technology to protect its fleet of prestige vehicles from nasties.

P1 International, claimed to be Australia's most exclusive car club, has installed QuikTrak CarWatch tracking and alarm systems in its fleet of 12 prestige vehicles, which includes a $700,000 Lamborghini Murcielago and $500,000 Ferrari F430 Spider.

"I settled on QuikTrak's CarWatch system because it was the only system able to trace vehicles in virtually all situations," said P1 International CEO Tim Sommers.
"I spent two days researching and interviewing the industry players and took an especially long look at GPS [satellite] network tracking systems.

"I'm a big fan of them after having used them in desert motorbike races. Of course, you don't have a lot of underground car parks or theft in the desert."

QuikTrak general manager Gavin Rogut explained that "One of the CarWatch system's primary advantages is that because it does not rely on line-of-sight communication between the vehicle's transponder unit and our network base transmitters, it has very good penetration through solid objects such as buildings, which maintains network communication."

The CarWatch alarm system contains QuikTrak's patented transponder that communicates with QuikTrak's 24-hour monitored response centre via a military-grade spread-spectrum radio network, meaning you are notified the second rubber begins to roll.

Invented in Australia and perfected by the aerospace industry, this patented radio technology is claimed to be extremely robust and virtually un-jammable.

Mr Sommers said that when it came to car security, he couldn't afford to take any chances.
"It would become uneconomical for me to manage my business if I had to manage a total loss.
"That's how important having ultimate vehicle security is to me. It's mandatory to have the best system available."

With $4 million worth of prestige and performance cars in his 'garage' and hefty insurance premiums, Mr Sommers said he suffered insomnia before all his vehicles were protected with QuikTrak CarWatch tracking system.

"The CarWatch product has allowed me to rest easy. I love having the knowledge to see, if I want to, where my cars are, who's got them and how fast they're travelling.

"Before it was installed, I wasn't sleeping at night, trust me," he said, and hell, we wouldn’t be either. We hardly sleep as it is!

QuikTrak's Response Centre can locate the CarWatch system transponder when alerted to a theft and direct police to recover a stolen vehicle, or even immobilise it remotely, leaving thieves out in the cold.
The CarWatch system also includes a car alarm comprising multiple engine immobilisers, tamper sensors and siren.

The CarWatch system costs $699 excluding installation, plus a $36 monthly monitoring fee.
