  A STUNNING HOT4

It has just a few more pots than the cars we normally feature, but is that a bad thing? The Ferrari 599GTB Fiorano is the awesome whip that you’re looking at right now, and to call it a sports car is an understatement. The Enzo has a top speed of 350km/h, while the 599GTB – with the same 5.9L engine – has been detuned to ‘only’ 330km/h. While that may seem a little dodgy, the 599GTB is still one of the fastest cars currently in production. The 599GTB is the spiritual successor to the 575M, so like its predecessor, it is front-engined and rear-wheel drive.

Now, because it is a Ferrari, it will set you back a fair bit, and if you are interested in buying one, be prepared to shell out $574,000 for the base model with the classic manual gearbox or $600,000 for the F1 version with the F1-inspired semi-automatic gearbox.

This car then is out of reach for more than just few people down-under. Then again, even if you did have the dough to buy such a car, you’d be too late now. It seems that every one of the 2006 and 2007 models have been spoken for, and the car still hasn’t made its Sydney Motor Show debut. As with all Ferraris, the 599GTB is hand-built from scratch at the Ferrari factory. Yes, the Italians sure do take pride in doing things right – even if it does take a very long time.
